"Getting out into nature and downhill skiing helps you work more intensively"
In January, doctoral researcher Elisa Sahari worked on the residency. Sahari is working on her dissertation at the Department of Psychology at the University of Turku as part of the Climate Nudge project (ilmastotuuppaus.fi). In this research project funded by the Strategic Council of Finland (STN), nudges are being developed, which aim to increase individuals' climate-friendly behavior.
Sahari's dissertation consists of three different studies that examine the complexity of human decision-making. The goal is to create a broad picture of how, among other things, income level, attitudes, experience of self-reliance and social environment affect the size of a person's carbon footprint.
During her residency, she focused on her dissertation’s first substudy, the aim of which is to create a broad view of how e.g. income level, attitudes, political orientation, and experience of self-reliance affect the size of a person's carbon footprint.
The dissertation will be held in 2025.
